Andrew Ng argues that execution speed is a strong predictor of startup success, especially for application-layer businesses built on AI. He recommends turning ideas into specific, testable products, using subject-matter expertise to make decisions, and iterating quickly with AI coding tools and rapid user feedback. As engineering gets faster, product judgment and customer feedback become greater bottlenecks, while knowledge of current AI capabilities helps teams avoid costly technical detours. He also urges builders to use AI responsibly, bring more people into building with it, and focus first on making products users love.
