Anders Forslund

Heart Aerospace CEO Anders Forslund describes how the company went from a 3D-printed model to flying what it calls the world’s largest electric aircraft. The talk explains how electric motors could make short regional flights quieter and cheaper, and why Heart is adding a hybrid system to meet aircraft reserve requirements and extend range. Forslund also discusses Heart’s staged fundraising and customer development, its decision to build key components in-house, and its approach to managing engineering risk through iteration. The company’s longer-term ambitions include larger aircraft and, eventually, fewer pilots in the cockpit.
