Shana Fisher shares advice for building startups, often challenging standard guidance. She recommends stretching early funding, choosing co-founders based on complementary skills, and taking enough time to make a product stand out. She discusses the strategic tradeoffs of building in New York, evaluating investors, and focusing product development on what users need today. She also emphasizes thoughtful hiring and management, making a plan for when the company needs revenue, and building toward ambitious, meaningful goals.
