Remora builds carbon capture systems for semi-trucks and locomotives, extracting and purifying CO₂ from their exhaust so it can be sold to industrial users. Founder and CEO Paul Gross describes how a CO₂ shortage inspired the company, how he assembled a team with the needed expertise, and why Remora is based near Detroit. The talk covers Remora’s point-source capture method, in-house manufacturing, and engine simulator for testing system performance. Gross says the company aims to scale the technology across transportation and other industries to capture up to a billion tons of CO₂ annually.
